For employers and supervisors

WHMIS education for your team, without the admin

Send workers the link. They take the free course on their own device, pass the exam, and each receives a certificate with an ID you can check at whmiscert.ca/verify. Nothing to install, no seats to manage.

Individuals and small crews

Each worker pays CAD 24.95 at checkout and sends you the PDF or the certificate ID. You keep the PDF with your training records; the verify page confirms it at any time. Works today, no setup.

Teams of 10 or more

One invoice, a completion list with names and dates for your records, and a per-worker price below the public rate. Email contact@whmiscert.ca with your head count and province, and we'll set it up the same business day.

What the certificate covers

The course delivers the WHMIS education component required by every provincial and territorial OHS regulation and by Part X of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations: how the system works, hazard classes and categories, the ten pictograms, supplier and workplace labels, the 16-section SDS, the hierarchy of controls, spill and exposure response, worker rights and duties, and the Hazardous Products Regulations amendments in force December 15, 2025. The exam is 25 questions at 80%, graded server-side.

What you still need to do

Every jurisdiction requires workplace-specific training on top of generic education, delivered by the employer: your product inventory and SDS locations, your labelling practice, your spill and emergency procedures, the PPE for your products. You also need to review your WHMIS program at least annually, in consultation with your health and safety committee or representative, and keep records. Our completion list and the certificate's recommended review date are designed to drop into that cycle.

Why employers choose it

  • Current. Written against the amended HPR (GHS revision 7), including chemicals under pressure, revised aerosols and flammable-gas categories.
  • Verifiable. Every certificate has an ID and QR; the record shows the name, date and jurisdiction, nothing else.
  • Honest about scope. The certificate says what it is: the education component. No "government approved" claims, because no such approval exists.
  • Cheap to renew. Annual refresher for CAD 9.95, with reminders to workers who opted in.

Frequently asked by employers

Is online WHMIS training legal in my province?

Yes. Every jurisdiction's regulation requires the employer to ensure workers receive education and training; it does not prescribe the delivery method or the provider. Online delivery of the generic component is standard practice, including by provincial safety associations. The employer remains responsible for the site-specific component and for confirming workers can apply what they learned.

Can I get an invoice with my company name?

Stripe issues a receipt to the payer at checkout. For a company invoice or a single payment for several workers, email us; we'll invoice the company directly.

Do you store my workers' data?

Name, email, province, score and completion date, as needed to issue and verify the certificate. See the privacy policy. Nothing is sold or shared.

Do you offer French / SIMDUT?

Not yet. The course is English-only and not offered in Quebec.
